Ms. Kary Pardy recently joined the Pook & Pook team, coming to us from our friends Wooten & Wooten Auctioneers in South Carolina. After studying European History at Hamilton College, Kary earned a Master’s Degree in Public History: Museums and Material Culture Research from the University of South Carolina. Her research included in depth studies of Medieval European and maritime history, as well as museum management. Thanks to time spent working at the Higgins Armory Museum, Kary is a specialist in appraising weaponry, related militaria, metals, and ephemera. Kary also served as a curatorial consultant and researcher for the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum, McKissick Museum Folklife Resource Center, and the South Carolina Railroad Museum. She was selected by the Foundation for Appraisal Education and received the Wendell G. Garrett Scholarship to attend the Winterthur Fall Institute. Kary continues to further her Decorative Arts education whenever possible and also specializes in American currency, antique books, maps, and printed materials.
